About Castle Cottage
Castle Cottage is a cosy, fully self-contained, 2 bedroom cottage which is completely equipped to cater for all your needs.
Castle Cottage was built in the early 1900s to house the Emita district school teacher. The cottage was completely renovated and extended in 2000 with the tourist market in mind.
We started operating in April 2001. Our first guests flew in by helicopter and landed on the lawn in front of the cottage much to the surprise of our neighbours. Since then we have welcomed guests from all throughout Australia, Germany, France, Canada, England and Japan. We often get return guests.
Barbara your hostess is a fourth generation islander and as such has a wide knowledge of most things Flinders island which she will gladly share with you should you require it.
We meet our guests upon arrival at the cottage and give them a quick run through of the layout and answer any queries they may have. As our own residence is on the same block as the cottage we welcome guests to come over at any time should they require any information or assistance. .
Where possible we try to be flexible with check in and check out times however we do request that guests provide check in times in advance.
House Rules: No smoking inside the cottage, no pets and a minimum of three night stay.
